In 2008, I went searching for surviving Filipino WWII veterans still living in the Philippines with the intention of creating photographs that showed their current state in life and somehow make a statement about how we treat our heroes. These portraits would later become the exhibit called "Valor: Sa Manlulupig, Di Ka Pasisiil", which opened in three locations in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2009.
